cyanotype ferns

I inadvertently created something way more upholstery like than I meant to when I first started playing with these ferns, but even though it’s not my style, I love them and I love Anna Atkins.

Based on cyanotype photograms of ferns made by Anna Atkins in 1853.

The images shown here are of ferns that were captured as cyanotype photograms made by Anna Atkins and Anne Dixon for their 1853 book, Cyanotypes of British and Foreign Ferns. The Getty Museum has digitized their copy and placed the images in the public domain; it can be viewed in full at http://www.getty.edu/art/collection/objects/32412/anna-atkins-and-anne-dixon-cyanotypes-of-british-and-foreign-ferns-photographic-title-page-british-1853/

Available as wallpaper, fabric, and various household fabric objects for purchase at Spoonflower.

I know I said it wasn’t my style but I think it should be someone’s.
